At this stage I am not able to give very much information about this brand, but there is some indication that the links existed between Sydney, Australia, and Appeldorn in Holland. There is one advert from the Australian Hardware and Machinery Magazine of December 6th 1926 that relates to Astona, as follows:-
ASTONA . Dooremans & Co. Apeldoorn, Holland, Petrol Lantern, 300 cp and Petrol table lamp, 300 cp
From the scanty evidence we have it is not possible to be precise in detailing what these lanterns actually are, but Neil McRae has investigated and says that "from the pictures they are Nulite products. The handle fixing on the lantern is distinctive and National Stamping did sell the Sunshine Safety lamp as their own".
If you know anything about this brand, perhaps you could let me know.
Thanks to Mick Emm and Neil McRae for this information
